Arthur and Area Historical Society preserves artifacts and documents of local and general interest.  The Society is active in projects of many kinds throughout the community.

Tin Roof Rusted Farm & Plant Nursery

We are a plant nursery and market garden farm in Mount Forest, Ontario specializing in growing over 80 species of Native Plants as well as over 20 varieties of heirloom tomatoes transplants and other vegetables. Buy your seedlings direct from the grower, retail or wholesale OR just come when the veggies are ready! We attend Farmers’ Markets and events, so you can easily access our high quality plants and vegetables – all sustainably grown without pesticides or herbicides – the natural choice!

Riverside Maples

,Part of the Horse and Buggy Trail, at Riverside Maples members of the Lester Wideman family will explain the wood fired evaporator which produces tasty maple syrup. You will also see the machine and hear how they make maple butter. The storefront cabinet sports syrup containers of all sizes plus a variety of handmade kitchen accessories.

A&W - Mount Forest

In 1956, the first A&W drive-in restaurant in Canada opened on Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Serving a delicious combination of great-tasting burgers, onion rings and frosted mugs of famous A&W Root Beer®—all from the smiling faces of friendly car hops—A&W proved to be an instant hit. A&W Restaurants quickly multiplied across the nation, flourishing through the late '50s and '60s.

Arthur Greenhouses

A family run greenhouse and market garden just east of Arthur.  In the spring, greenhouses are overflowing with annuals and perennials.  The yard boasts a good selection of trees and shrubs.  Free run chickens supply the eggs!
