Riverside Maples

,Part of the Horse and Buggy Trail, at Riverside Maples members of the Lester Wideman family will explain the wood fired evaporator which produces tasty maple syrup. You will also see the machine and hear how they make maple butter. The storefront cabinet sports syrup containers of all sizes plus a variety of handmade kitchen accessories.

Terra Verde Homestead

Terra Verde Homestead is a 10 acre farm dedicated to a market garden and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). We also raise a variety of heirloom chickens and turkeys, Indian Runner Ducks, honeybees, and are developing fruit and nut orchards, perennial berries, and flowers. We also have a menagerie of animals including Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats, sheep, and a llama.

Tin Roof Rusted Farm & Plant Nursery

We are a plant nursery and market garden farm in Mount Forest, Ontario specializing in growing over 80 species of Native Plants as well as over 20 varieties of heirloom tomatoes transplants and other vegetables. Buy your seedlings direct from the grower, retail or wholesale OR just come when the veggies are ready! We attend Farmers’ Markets and events, so you can easily access our high quality plants and vegetables – all sustainably grown without pesticides or herbicides – the natural choice!

The Mount Forest Museum and Archives is a safe haven for our past.  It has interesting displays and helpful volunteers to find information that you may be seeking.

welcomes everyone to visit the farms and other
businesses on the Trail.
Open year round, the Trail follows the scenic back
roads of Southgate. Visit the tidy farmsteads where you are welcome to browse for local food, maple syrup, eggs, flowers, baking, and preserves galore plus two local butchers, an authentic general store, a baker, furniture makers and even a buggy shop and old feed mill!
